About Squarrel Cafe

Squarrel Cafe started with a simple observation: getting a group together to play board games shouldn't require buying a stack of titles, clearing the dining table, learning every rulebook in advance, and hoping the evening goes well.

We built a space in Brooklyn where the hard parts are handled for you. Walk in, pick a game from our 300-plus library, and let our staff match a title to your group and walk you through the rules. Order bubble tea or karaage delivered to your table — and stay for as long as the game demands.

Whether you're a group of friends looking for something to do on a Saturday, a couple exploring a new hobby, a family with kids of different ages, or a seasoned D&D crew, Squarrel Cafe is designed so everyone at the table has a good time.

Our mission

Make in-person gaming accessible to beginners and convenient for groups seeking an extended social outing — one table, one visit, zero preparation.

What we stand for

Welcoming
First visits, mixed-experience groups, and different ages all feel comfortably included. We explain everything in plain language and meet you where you are.
Playful
We bring lightness and delight to discovering games without making the experience feel childish. Browsing is an invitation to explore, not a chore.
Helpful
Our staff reduces uncertainty with practical guidance at the moment you need it — from choosing the right game to explaining the rules.
Neighborly
We act like a considerate local gathering place that respects shared space, community rhythm, and the reasons you come back.
